Chris Lukhaup and Oliver Knott are two full-blown aquarium enthusiasts that share a vision – and have now come together in order to create their own exclusive line of fish and shrimp foods with NatureHolic.

The ingredients of the fish and shrimp feeds are based on their decades of experience with keeping and breeding aquarium animals, and of course on their observations out in the natural habitats, and on scientific findings on feeding fishes and invertebrates in the aquarium.

When composing the recipes for our NatureHolic fish feed line, we fall back on the most recent scientific research, and when choosing ingredients, we make sure to use only raw materials of the highest quality.

Cheap fillers and attractants are not an option for us! Granulated feed, tabs or flake food, main feed for all omnivorous aquarium fishes, or fine-grained special feed for young fish, a feed for the generalists amongst our aquarium pets, or food especially composed for cichlids, catfishes, bettas, guppies and other livebearing fish, or miniature fish – the NatureHolic fish feed line has the right kind of fish food for every aquarium inhabitant.

Our well-balanced recipes are wholesome, and our ingredients are of the highest available quality – which is, at the same time, an active factor in creating a healthier biotope in your aquarium. All the ingredients we use for our NatureHolic Fish Feed line are highly digestible; this means your fish can use the nutrients contained in this feed extremely well, and their droppings do not pollute the water as much as with less digestible fish food.

Good plant growth is the most crucial part in a stable aquarium biotope – and it is the best safeguard against unwanted algal blooms there is. Strong, luscious plants are a reliable competition against notorious algae – but aquarium plants can only grow strong when they are provided with sufficient nutrients for healthy growth. Aquascaping Made Easier

If you have any ambitions in the field of aquascaping or planted tanks in general, our NatureHolic Fix Line is a prerequisite you can’t do without: Experienced aquarium designers and aquascapers as well as beginners in the hobby alike will find them to be extremely helpful when it comes to decorating their aquarium. Epiphytic plants grow best when cultivated on the hardscape consisting of driftwood and rocks – if you cover their roots with substrate, they won’t grow well, and may even rot away. Plants and mosses on the aquarium decoration add a very natural feel to your planted tank and render it highly attractive! The NatureHolic Fix Line provides you with everything you need for natural aquarium decoration.

With the yarn, you can professionally attach mosses, ferns and other epipyhtes like Bucephalandra or Anubias on the branches of your driftwood or on smaller rocks and stones. All those who find using yarn much too tedious will be very happy with our special plant glue, suitable for fixing mosses and plants to aquarium decoration. This glue originates from medicine and is based on cyanoacrylate. It is safe for all aquarium animals and plants, too. Of course, you can use them individually, too, depending on the requirements of the ecosystem in your aquarium. NatureHolic Liquids are based on 100% natural raw ingredients, and were developed for one of the largest breeding rooms in Europe.

They did their job so well that we decided to make them available to our customers, too – our NatureHolic Liquids are highly suitable for shrimp tanks, and for aquariums with fishes as well. NatureHolic Crusta ToxEx eliminates problematic substances like pesticides, ammonia, heavy metals, medications and more reliably and safely. Its active ingredients bind to these toxins and convert them into a physically stable mineral form that’s no longer harmful. NatureHolic Crusta Humin Liquid adds important humic substances to the water and converts standard tap water into something that’s more alike to the water in the natural biotopes and much gentler for fishes and invertebrates.

The NatureHolic Balls Line is highly innovative – the small balls add important ingredients to your tank water, which can have a highly positive effect on the biotope inside your aquarium. Moreover, NatureHolic Balls give off important minerals like calcium, and trace elements that are highly beneficial for shrimp, crayfish, aquarium snails, aquatic plants and ornamental fish.

You can use our NatureHolic Balls for prevention, too, not only as a cure for an existing problem. After some time, even though the balls do not break down completely, their effects are exhausted, so you’ll need to replace them from time to time. You can always leave them and use them as a decorative element, of course! The surface of the NH ToxEx Balls invites the all-important filter bacteria to settle, which denitrify your aquarium water.

ToxEx Balls are especially beneficial while your tank is cycling, however, you can always use them if your tank water has high readings of nitrates, nitrite or phosphate. Toxic substances like copper and other heavy metals are removed from the water and physically rendered harmless in addition. Our NatureHolic Infrared Balls, on the other hand, make use of the antibacterial effect of infrared light. These small balls are enriched with special minerals that react with the aquarium light and give off a mild infrared radiation, which can keep the count of harmful bacteria in the water down and lower the overall bacterial count in the aquarium water, too.

NatureHolic Bites are a highly special supplementary feed – you could rightfully call them a tasty treat with additional function. The soft feed pads sink to the bottom at once, and are then easily and immediately available to all aquarium pets feeding from the bottom or inhabiting the lower to medium zones of the tank. Our NatureHolic Insect Bites are based on high-quality insect and crayfish meal and supply your aquarium invertebrates with an extra portion of highly digestible protein.

The yummy feed pads were especially developed for crayfish, dwarf crayfish, crabs and shrimp needing an additional proportion of protein temporarily or in the long run. Insect Bites are a great protein supplement for egg-bearing female shrimp, juvenile shrimp during their growth phases, Amano shrimp and long-arm shrimp. However, even though they were designed with invertebrates in mind, they are also a great treat for bottom-feeding aquarium fish like armored catfishes and other scaly foodies. The plant based NatureHolic Pumpkin Cinnamon Bites, on the other hand, have been created with plant-eating aquarium pets in mind.

They are a yummy treat for dwarf shrimp, beautiful aquarium snails like apple snails, Brotia & Cie., but also for herbivorous catfishes and any other scaly vegetarians in your aquarium that love eating from the bottom. In our recipe, we combine yummy pumpkin containing important fibre and lots of beta-carotene with tasty cinnamon, known for its mild anti-bacterial properties – for great colors and an increased sense of well-being in your aquarium pets.

NatureHolic Vitamins & Minerals

Our NatureHolic MineralCubes provide you with a super simple option to add important minerals to your tank for a long time. The cubes give off minerals like calcium and magnesium to the water slowly and steadily, and at the same time, your aquarium pets can nibble on them in order to get themselves some extra helpings. A good mineral supply is especially important for crustaceans, which need calcium and magnesium to render their shell hard and robust.

Aquarium snails also depend on a regular mineral supply for building a stable shell. All aquarium pets rely on minerals for their health, as do the plants in your tank. Even the filter bacteria require a certain mineral supply so they can do their important work of breaking down toxic substances like nitrite and ammonia. The minerals given off by the MineralCubes dissolve very slowly in the water, just as they are needed, and the water current distributes them in the entire tank so they get to the places they are require.

This provides you with a highly practical solution for vacations or if you just need a staple food or a yummy snack for your invertebrates. These cubes allow you to feed your aquarium snails or shrimps without polluting the water.

IN BETWEEN THE LINES

Our pudding line was developed in close collaboration with leading shrimp-breeding experts, and we have taken the special requirements of shrimp into account when creating these excellent shrimp foods. Of course, we refrain from using cheap fillers and only use high-quality ingredients we carefully select! Our shrimp puddings will attach to the aquarium glass or other smooth surfaces in your tank, so just take out a small ball and press it on.

The pudding dissolves very slowly, and the particles are distributed nicely in the tank by the current and reach even the smallest baby shrimp that are still in a sessile stage, not moving around much. This feed gives your shrimp just what they need, and in the exact spot where they are sitting. NatureHolic pudding foods are great for filter feeders like fan shrimp, Brotia snails, Piano snails, clams and mussels and so on, and they are also highly suitable to create a film of food for larger groups of shrimp. Just press the desired amount of feed onto a smooth piece of rock until you have a thin film.

SHRIMP LOLLIES

Our highly popular NatureHolic Lollies come in many yummy varieties and have been created especially for feeding shrimp in a new way – this doesn’t mean that other aquarium pets like fish or snails won’t benefit from the tasty treats, too. They just love to get a few mouthfuls for themselves, too! The underlying concept is easy: Just stick the lolly in the ground, ideally in the foreground of your tank so you can watch and observe more easily. In no time, your shrimp will come sit on the stick in order to nibble away on its coat of natural, high-quality ingredients.

Ideal for getting an overview of the shrimp population in your aquarium, for selecting the shrimp for your next breeding project, for finding the most beautiful specimens, or for just observing and feeling happy about your funny aquarium pets – our lollies are suitable for a lot of reasons. The NatureHolic Booster feed is a innovative liquid food for shrimp, snails, mussels and clams, developed with pro breeders and based on scientific findings. The fine particles contained in our liquid feed varieties are distributed extremely well in the aquarium water and thus form a beautiful uniform feeding film for aquarium snails and dwarf shrimp. This is a very natural way of feeding invertebrates, and it is exactly the way they eat in nature: happily munching away on biofilms forming on all kinds of surfaces in their biotopes.

The five stainless steel tools contained in our NatureHolic Aquascaping kit come in a stylish black case. Their practical length of 30 cm makes working in small to large tanks easy and comfortable. The straight scissors are ideal for trimming stem plants and mosses, the curved ones are for carpet plants.

A curved and a straight pair of tweezers come in handy all the time, and the double gravel flattener/glass scraper helps you shape your substrate and cleans your aquarium glass.

AQUA TOOLS

Snails form an integral part of aquariums, primarily as a cleanup crew. Our range of products caters specifically to this vital aquarium creatures, keeping them healthy so they can keep your tank healthy.

In nature, many aquatic snail species tend to migrate as a part of their natural life cycle and behavior. In the aquarium, this may prove fatal, though: When falling from the aquarium glass they can damage their shell severely, and even if they survive the fall unscathed they may dry out behind the aquarium cabinet and die there – they simply don’t know that our living environments aren’t humid enough for them to survive.

The NatureHolic Snail Barrier acts as an invisible barrier, an innovative safeguard against snails escaping from your tank, which keeps the snails where they belong, even in open tanks. The transparent paste is non-toxic and safe for all aquarium pets. It is applied in a thin uninterrupted layer on the aquarium glass all around the inside above the water level. The snails dislike the feeling of the paste on their foot and therefore turn around once they touch it, returning to the water where they belong. If you accidentally remove parts of the invisible barrier when cleaning your aquarium just re-apply.

Both our water conditioners are 100% natural. NatureHolic PureMontmorillonit and PureZeolith are dry powdered water additives for your aquarium that harness the raw power of nature. Their mineral components are ground to a micro-fine powder. We deliberately refrain from using fillers and other superfluous additives.  Montmorillonite and zeolite both are powerful ion exchangers with the ability to bind to poisonous and other noxious substances in the aquarium water and turn them into physically stable, harmless compounds: stuff that’s highly dangerous for the animals in your tank, heavy metals like copper and silver for example, pesticides, chlorine, ammonia and many other toxic substances cannot harm your aquarium fish and invertebrates any more.

NatureHolic PureMontmorillonit and PureZeolith both were developed exclusively for us, and we have tested both products thoroughly in one of the largest commercial aquariums for invertebrates in Germany. Both those natural water conditioners are absolutely benign and safe
